“You’re doing something to me,” he repeats.

The voice is partly accusatory, partly a matter of fact, and it rumbles with a deep bass around the room, reverberating long after the sentence had finished. It takes Sean a moment to realize that Peter’s voice is resonating off the metal shutters behind him. He’s giddy as the sheer scale of the man in front of him hits him.

“Sort of,” he says. There’s no use hiding it now.

“Is now the time to be coy? Seriously?” Peter demands. He can’t help but be impatient. It’s not that what he’d experienced was bad, exactly, at least not in the moment. Far from it, it had been the single most pleasurable experience in his life. But his mind was flooded with questions. What had happened to him? Was it still happening to him? What was his life going to be like from now on? He was not in the mood for games.

“It’s the most accurate answer. I’m not actively doing anything, but it’s because of me that things are happening to you,” Sean says, but the answer just annoys Peter further.

The big man takes two steps forward and crouches down, his huge burly form squeezing down into a massive, broad ball of muscle. Even in this position, his face is a little higher than Sean’s, and that’s not all. From here, half of what Sean can see is his giant friend. He can smell his sweat, feel his body heat radiating off him. Sean swoons, as Peter demands.

“Explain.”

Sean gulps, attempting to focus his thoughts.

“S’a curse…” he slurs, eyes unable to be dragged away from the mountain of muscle in front of him.

“A curse?” Peter repeats flatly, not believing a word of it. “Like an actual magical spell?”

“Maybe… Or a blessing, or… I dunno. It just happens.”

“What? What happens? Focus, Sean.” Peter reaches out and places a single finger under the small man’s chin, lifting his face to look at him.

“I don’t know how. I swear… I just know that it does. I spend time with guys, I pay them compliments and they grow big… nothing like you though.”

“You pay them compliments?”

“It’s like the bigger I make them feel, the bigger they get.” Sean nods. His eyes have wandered, taking in the behemoth in front of him.

“Right, well if that’s how you want to play it, thanks for nothing. I’m going to see what I can salvage from my life now I’m like this…” Peter says tersely, and stands up to walk away.

“Peter, wait-”

“People think I’m stupid. I’m not stupid,” He says heading towards the shutters.

“I don’t think you’re stupid!”

“And I don’t like being lied to!”

“I’m not lying - please just wait, just for a minute!” Sean runs behind the big man and throws himself between him and the controls for the shutters. Peter raises an eyebrow at him - it would have been effortless to get past him before tonight, now it was ludicrous to think Sean would even slow him down. But the tiny man looks up at him, chin jutting defiantly, “I have information, and I know you want to hear it.”

Peter doesn’t move back into the room, but he folds his arms, and furrows his brows. “Talk.”

Sean is flustered, but quickly tries to arrange his thoughts; “O-okay - I mean, we covered a bunch of it already, but I promise I’m not lying. I don’t know why any of this happens, but I do know what happens. And I do know that it’s not permanent.”

“It’s not?”

“No. Well, mostly. A couple of the guys I slept with kept an inch here or there, but most of it went away. Although…”

“Although what?”

Sean lightly rests his arm on top of Peter’s abs, his breath catching in his throat as he sighs and looks up, catching Peter’s own gaze with wide, disbelieving eyes.

“None of them were anywhere near as big as you.”

The effects are less pronounced than last time, fortunately, but the sudden pulse of each muscle in Peter’s body, like every one of them flexes at once before settling down, retaining some of that pumped up size. Peter scratches his chest as he looks down at himself in disbelief.

“You see?” Sean says triumphantly, “I made you feel big, and you got bigger, just like I said!”

“Yeah.. just like you said,” Peter stops inspecting his own arms to glare at Sean, “You manipulated me.”

“What?”

“You’ve been toying with my feelings, making me feel a certain way-”

“ - and you’ve been doing it ALL NIGHT.” Peter brings his hand down and slams it against the shutters to punctuate his point. But it’s with some shock that both of them look up to see his hand is not on the sheet of steel - it’s about six inches through it. Peter carefully removes his hand, to reveal a perfectly formed cast of it molded into the metal.

“I should… I should calm down,” he says, before turning and padding away, sitting on the far side of the mat - the only part that’s still dry - and taking some deep breaths. 

Seans stays by the door, looking in awe at the evidence of this young man’s strength, before steeling himself and joining the giant.

“I’m sorry,” he says, squatting down next to him, “I shouldn’t have manipulated you.”

“Thank-you.”

“But you’re being way more dishonest to yourself.”

“Excuse me? Are you trying to piss me off?” Peter demands.

“What if I am? What will you do? Hulk out, smash up a few things, hurt me? I’d just be giving you an excuse to be yourself.”

“You don’t know the first thing about me.” Peter retorts.

“Oh really? Let's see, shall we? Tall, handsome, effortlessly strong, not to mention hung like a pornstar, and yet you’re happy to dawdle around a club like some lost lamb waiting for your brother? I don’t buy it.” 

“Don’t push me,” Peter warns, his entire body tensing, but Sean doesn’t back down. He stands in front of the man, face-to-face though Peter remains sitting.

“You. Fucking. Love it. The attention, the half-hidden whispers, the knowledge that wherever you go all eyes are on you…”

“It’s just my body, I can’t control-”

“Bullshit, Peter. Don’t try and lie to me, because I’m much better at it than you. When did you realize it, hmm? When you trashed that gym you mentioned?”

“I don’t - that was a mistake!” Peter says, looking cornered.

“No, no it was earlier than that I think. That was just a test…” Sean continues, reading Peter’s reactions like a book. “But you hide it. The mild-mannered, gentle giant that everyone can’t help but fall in love with-”

“No.”

“-when really you’re just a beast. A beast that’s high on his own size-”

“No.”

“-and now look at you, bigger than ever and loving every second of-”

“ENOUGH.”

Peter stands at a speed that was belied by his sheer bulk, snatching Sean up with a single hand and holding him at arm's length, his digits wrapped around his waist. As he stood, he’d slammed down his foot hard and, while he hadn’t looked down to check, he could feel the result; a crack in the floorboards that splinters out at least 3ft away from him.

“I am not going to stand here and listen to you dictate what I am and what I am not. You’re wrong.” He hisses through gritted teeth.

“Sure…” Sean responds nervously - it’s a long way down. But even as the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, face to face with this angry god of a man, he can’t help it. He pushes forward, “I’ll just ask you a question then; why did you grow tonight?”

“That’s my question,” Peter responds, uncertain at what Sean was driving at.

“And I gave you the answer. You got big because I made you feel big.”

“So?”

“So if the ego wasn’t there, how did I stroke it?”

Peter stares at him dumbfounded for a moment, before saying, “No, you’re messing with my head.”

“How am I?”

“You’re manipulating me again! Just like you have all evening.” Peter bargains.

“I don’t need to! Don’t you see?” Seans smiles at him, still caught in the grasp of the giant, more than five feet above the floor of the gym. “I don’t need to lie to you. Because you want this too. And I’m the first person you can be yourself with, without worrying about scaring them away or breaking them.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” Peter growls, tightening his grip just a fraction, though enough to make a point. Sean squirms a little, but his face drips into a lopsided smile.

“Ooo - threaten me with a good time, why don’t you? I told you before; that’s not how it works.”

“What do you mean?”
“This curse - whatever it is - it’s a two-way street. You can’t hurt me.” Sean smiles at him, waiting for Peter’s imagination to catch-up.

“What, not even if I - “

“Nope.”

Peter pauses, realization dawning on his face.

“What if we were to-”

“You can’t hurt me. You can try, if you want.”

Peter braces for a second, weighing up his options as he regards the confident smile of the little man in his arms, but his shoulders slump.

“I, uh, don’t want…”

“Good. But just know… you don’t have to hold back. Now, could you let me down? As hot as this is, I think I’m getting vertigo.”

“Oh, uh, sure…” Peter acquiesces. He feels… confused. Hadn’t he been angry a second ago? Goddamnit, that little asshole did it again! Twisting him around like it was nothing, he was so wily. It was infuriating - and yet, he had to admit, not entirely unattractive. “So what do we do now?”

“Mmm. I have a couple of ideas…” Sean says, sashaying forwards, and wrapping his hands around the now limp member in front of him. It’s huge, his fingers not quite making their way around, and he hefts it up, testing its considerable weight. 

“No, not that. I mean about me. About this place…” Peter says, though he doesn’t move away or otherwise stop his little worshipper.

“You’ll sort yourself out. By morning you’ll be your usual self, or thereabouts - still hulking, just not as much.” He pulls back Peter’s foreskin, and plants a kiss on his abs, glancing around the room out of the corner of his eye, “This place might take some explaining though. But that’s my problem, I’ll smooth it over. Leroy’s a sweetheart. Fuck you’re so big…”

He plants a kiss at the tip, causing it to balloon out a little, along with a sharp intake of breath from high above him.

“How big would you say I've gotten?” Peter cocks his head, watching Sean work on his rapidly expanding cock.

“Too big,” he says, dragging his mouth up the length and punctuating it with a lip-smacking slurp, “For anyone but me.”

David was really starting to worry now.

Fair comment, I'm teasing a little bit.

I'm planning my next story, which I'm really excited about: I have some fun ideas I'm itching to try. It's going to be longer form, and it's going to establish a setting that I can dip into for shorter stories that bulk up the world.

Ego Boost is concluded, but there's going to be more coming within the same world - it might not be the last we see of Sean or Peter...

I really did try to keep things simple, but I couldn't help myself. Turns out I have a fetish for introspection

I do enjoy writing that angle though, and I'm always happy to hear people enjoy reading it.

[Two]

I am interested in stories where mental states affect physical attributes (i.e muscle growth). And while anger is the archetypal emotion thanks to the Hulk, I've come to prefer more positive ones such as arousal and especially appreciation, as is the case here.

I also enjoyed the confrontation between the two characters. Sean's conduct was questionable enough to make the conflict believable, but not so much as to make him vile. I also liked that the transformation is mostly temporary, as I enjoy the growth more than the end result.

In other words, I really liked this story! If only that could cause you to grow as well
